Hydration Matters: Should You Drink Water Before Walking?
Drinking water before exercising is generally considered a good practice. Hydration is essential for optimal physical performance, and drinking water before a workout helps to ensure that the body is properly hydrated. Water helps to regulate body temperature, lubricate joints, and transport nutrients and oxygen to the muscles. Dehydration, on the other hand, can lead to fatigue, cramps, and dizziness during exercise. However, it is important not to drink too much water before exercising, as this can lead to discomfort or the need for frequent bathroom breaks. A general guideline is to drink about 500 ml of water 2-3 hours before exercise and then 100-200 ml 10-20 minutes before starting.
